PЕК Officer Received Bribes: Indictments Issued for 7 Individuals
The preliminary investigation into the cases of illegal entrepreneurial activity causing significant damage to the state and receiving bribes by an officer of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) has been completed. This information was reported by the press service of the National Security Service (NSS).
It has been revealed that the SRC officer, aware of five individuals engaged in providing medical assistance and services without state registration, accounting, and special permits, failed to implement accountability measures to halt the illegal entrepreneurial activity. As a result, these individuals avoided fulfilling their tax obligations as mandated by law, causing significant damage to the state.
Furthermore, during the period from April to June 2020, the SRC officer accepted bribes for not recording violations by companies engaged in stone production in his service area and for not applying the legally mandated accountability measures.
During the investigation, the majority of the damage caused to the state has been recovered, and assets belonging to the accused individuals have been seized. The criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor in charge of the case with indictments for seven individuals for confirmation and forwarding to the court.
