I Feel Spine-Chilling: The Entire Internet Will Soon Buzz About Haqqin.az Supporting Hovhikyahna, Says Sardarjan

Journalist and editor Levon Sardarjan, commenting on the latest treacherous article from the Azerbaijani media, wrote: “I feel spine-chilling that soon the entire internet will buzz about the fact that the Azerbaijani haqqin.az has come out in support of Nairi Hovhikyahna. And before the movie begins, let me say a few words. You are a human, perhaps I can prevent one or two of you from the temptation of making foolish comments. Nairi and I have serious disagreements and differences, which have been publicly expressed.

However, I must emphasize that Nairi Hovhikyahna, as well as several other journalists (including your humble servant), are hated in Azerbaijan. This is not something to brag about or a virtue; it is a fact that must be acknowledged. After this acknowledgment, it should be understood that the reason for the favorable behavior is not love for free speech and pluralism but, in their opinion, a convenient opportunity to make a scapegoat out of someone on the list of haters, to discredit them in their homeland to the last detail.

You may not like Nairi Hovhikyahna. You may not accept his ideas or his style of presenting them. But consider this: if you join the wave raised by haqqin.az, you will display your narrow-mindedness, shortsightedness, and absolute ignorance of media literacy to an enviable degree. It is worth noting that the Azerbaijani media outlet has addressed the recent events surrounding Nairi Hovhikyahna, the seizure of the journalist-expert's mobile phone by the NSS, and stated that they stand in support of Hovhikyahna. They have informed the international organization 'Reporters Without Borders' about the obstruction of Hovhikyahna’s professional work, thus demonstrating that there are issues with freedom of speech in Armenia.
