Eat Those Pieces Yourself and Maintain Your Dignity: Arushanyan's Lawyer to Judges

The Judge of the Court of Appeal, Mkhitaryan Harutyunyan, rejected the defense's appeal and kept the Mayor of Goris, Arush Arushanyan, in custody. This was reported by Arushanyan's lawyer, Erik Aleksanyan.

“I reaffirm my position expressed during the court session: ‘You do not have the will or the sufficient strength to make an objective decision in this case. You do not have the courage to make a decision that is unpleasant for those in power, and therefore I do not consider it worthy to participate in the session you are presiding over’,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

“Dear friends, we relate to this decision with a smile, because in fact, the loser is not us, but Judge M. Harutyunyan, who will never be the kind of judge that A. Azaryan, A. Vardanyan, V. Rshthun, M. Papoyan, and S. Marabyan are. And Arushanyan will be released regardless, do not doubt it,” he added.

He also addressed the judges with a request: “And one more thing, dear judges, please, during court sessions, put an end to these ridiculous behaviors, such as scolding the investigator, flattering the defense, and generally trying to appear objective and fair, but then coming and making decisions contrary to your behavior during the court sessions. Eat those pieces yourself and maintain your dignity a bit, otherwise it seems you have forgotten the seriousness of your status.”
