Enemy Shoots at Armenian Defense Ministry Combat Position, Damaging Vehicle

On July 31, 2021, around 18:30, unidentified servicemen of the opposing side opened fire from yet-to-be-identified firearms towards a service vehicle driven by contract serviceman A. Poghosyan at the combat position of the RA Ministry of Defense's N military unit, while he was performing his official duties. This act was carried out maliciously with the intent to unlawfully deprive others of life and destroy another's property, motivated by national hatred.

According to the information provided by the Information and Public Relations Department of the RA Investigative Committee, the gunfire resulted in damage to the aforementioned vehicle, causing significant material damage to the military unit. A. Poghosyan did not sustain any injuries.

In connection with the incident, the Eighth Garrison Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under Articles 34-104, part 2, subpoints 2, 6, and 13, and Article 185, part 2, subpoint 4 of the RA Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
