Vladimir Vardanian's Comments on Restrictions for Journalists in the National Assembly
Vladimir Vardanian, a representative of the "Civil Contract" faction in the National Assembly of Armenia, addressed the limitations on journalists' movement within the parliament.
"I have always been a defender of journalists, but a journalist must also understand that I should have the opportunity for personal freedom as well. Other issues related to further activities would be better discussed with the leadership of the National Assembly," said Vardanian.
According to Vardanian, the National Assembly should become the institution that paves the way to the future. He urged for reasonableness and moving forward on that path. "The people expect work from us," said Vardanian.
On August 2, media outlets covering the inaugural session of the 8th convocation of the National Assembly expressed dissatisfaction due to certain restrictions placed on journalists' movement within the parliamentary building.
