Video: What is the Situation in Turkey? The Village of Turunch Evacuated Due to Rampant Fires

The Turkish village of Turunch, located a few kilometers from Marmaris, has been completely evacuated due to raging forest fires. According to a correspondent from Izvestia, the road used by local residents to leave the area will soon be closed, as the fire is dangerously close to it. Soon, exiting the settlement will only be possible by boat.

It is worth reminding that a forest fire broke out in the southern part of Turkey's Antalya province on Wednesday. The number of victims of the fires in Turkey has reached 8, while 864 people have been injured, reported Health Minister Fahrettin Koca. Earlier, the country's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Bekir Pakdemirli, stated that in recent days, 107 forest fires had been extinguished, but five fire outbreaks remain uncontrolled in the provinces of Antalya and Mugla.
