Collision Between BMW and Mercedes in Aragatsotn Province Leaves 4 Injured

Today, a major car accident occurred in Aragatsotn province. At around 15:30, on the 44th km of the Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir highway, in the administrative territory of Ohavan village, a head-on collision took place between a BMW and a Mercedes.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, 4 individuals with varying degrees of injuries were transported to the "Ashtarak" medical center. The first to assist the injured were employees and civilians near the scene from the "Rashtuni" shopping center.

The medical team on duty at the "Ashtarak" medical center acted promptly, providing first aid to the victims at the scene before they were taken to the hospital.

Rapidly, officers from the second battalion of the second police detachment of the traffic police, led by battalion commander Vache Malakyan and squad commander Hrant Galstyan, arrived at the scene. Senior inspectors Shirak Minasian and Manuk Sargsyan from the detachment provided enhanced service to prevent curious drivers from parking their vehicles in the area and to avoid congestion.

As a result of the collision, the Mercedes veered off the roadway, hitting the mesh fence of a private property, while the BMW partially blocked the road.

Senior investigators Hayk Vardanyan and Anushavan Agajanyan from the same detachment also arrived at the accident site. Officer A. Agajanyan is preparing materials regarding the incident.

The responsible on-duty officer at the traffic police’s 177 operational management center, Ervand Aleksanyan, relayed information to the police department of Ashtarak, from where an operational team led by department head Ruben Nersisyan arrived.

Following the investigator's instructions, the vehicles are being transported to the police's secured area in Ashtarak. The police are working to identify the drivers and the injured parties. Additionally, representatives from the insurance companies “Rosgosstrakh-Armenia” and “Nairi Insurance” have also arrived at the scene.
