Situation at the Border Remains Tense, but Russia Ready to Provide Necessary Support - Russian Foreign Ministry
The Russian Foreign Ministry declares that they are seriously concerned about the recent armed incidents in certain areas along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, which have resulted in human casualties.
In a statement by Alexander Bikantov, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, it is mentioned that the situation at the border remains tense; however, Russia is prepared to continue providing necessary support for the resolution of the situation. This includes participating in delimitation and demarcation efforts.
Moscow intends to actively work towards turning the South Caucasus into a zone of stability, security, and prosperity. The Russian Foreign Ministry calls on the parties to refrain from actions that could lead to further deterioration of the situation.
It is recalled that on July 28, Azerbaijani armed forces once again resorted to provocations, violating the ceasefire in the northeastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Armenia and Azerbaijan had agreed to cease hostilities under Moscow's mediation.
