According to the Investigative Committee, on March 22, 2020, at around 04:10, officers from the police's Yerevan division approached the 28-year-old man who was wanted for theft, asking him to present identification. The suspect fled, during which he fired a shot towards the police officers with an illegally possessed gas pistol.

During the criminal investigation, not only were the circumstances of the mentioned incident clarified, but extensive investigative measures also revealed other crimes committed by the man.

It was established that between 2019 and 2020, the Yerevan resident stole a wallet, cash, a mobile phone, and documents from a parked “Mercedes Benz” in the Avan district, causing significant property damage to the vehicle's owner. After the theft, through deception and abuse of trust, he used the stolen passport to fraudulently obtain a total of 3,445,500 AMD from various banks and credit organizations.

In April 2019, he used technical means to break into a casino in the Nor Nork district of Yerevan and stole 1,930,000 AMD. During the same period, in May 2019, in agreement with an unidentified accomplice, he used technical means to break into a pharmacy in Yerevan and secretly stole medications and cash worth 6,152,201 AMD, causing particularly large damage.

Additionally, in January 2020, he rented an apartment from a Yerevan resident for a day and secretly stole household items, causing damage of 525,000 AMD. Continuing his criminal intentions, the man stole a wallet containing cash, bank cards, an ID, and a social card from a parked car on Cigarette Workers Street in Yerevan, causing damage of 135,000 AMD.

He later forged the stolen passport by placing his photo on it and presented it to a private company in Yerevan to sign a loan agreement, fraudulently obtaining 210,000 AMD. On the same day, he entered the stolen passport details into the website “Cashme.am” and signed a fraudulent loan agreement online, subsequently receiving and fraudulently embezzling 500,000 AMD, causing significant financial harm.

Based on sufficient evidence, charges have been brought against the 28-year-old man. He has been detained as a preventive measure. The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to the supervisory prosecutor with a request for confirmation of the indictment and forwarding to the court.
