‘It’s Not Our Business’: Kremlin Comments on Biden’s Meeting with Tikhanovskaya

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, has commented on the meeting between U.S. President Joe Biden and Belarusian opposition politician Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, stating that the American leader's meetings are his sovereign affairs and do not impact the situation in Belarus. This was reported by the RIA Novosti agency.

“The only question here is whom Mrs. Tikhanovskaya represents. Whom the U.S. president meets with is his sovereign right, and we cannot, do not intend to, and have no possibility of interfering. It’s not our business,” Peskov said to reporters.

He added that such meetings do not affect the situation in Belarus.

It is noted that Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, considered a leader of the Belarusian opposition in the West, is currently visiting the United States. She has already met with numerous political and public figures, as well as representatives of the Belarusian diaspora. On July 28, she had a meeting with President Joe Biden, who, according to Tikhanovskaya, gave her “cookies from the White House” after their conversation.
