Turkish Official Hopes Pashinyan Will Accelerate Implementation of Signed Agreements
On July 27, the speakers of the parliaments of Turkey, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan signed the "Baku Declaration". Before the signing ceremony, Mustafa Şentop, the President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, delivered a speech, emphasizing that the three countries bear responsibility for solving enduring problems in their regions. This was reported by Ermenihaber.am.
Şentop highlighted that alongside political issues, the cornerstones of cooperation among the three countries also include defense, transport, regional connectivity, trade, energy, education, tourism, and joint initiatives in the IT sector.
He termed the calls from Azerbaijan, as the victorious state, for a comprehensive peace agreement with Armenia as a "valuable process." He stated, "We believe that the best step Armenia can take is to respond to the aforementioned call with goodwill and a constructive approach. We hope that despite the defeat in the war, the re-elected Pashinyan on June 20 will accelerate the implementation of the agreements he has signed. If this step is taken sincerely, I want to reiterate that Turkey will respond in kind."
