If Our Armed Forces Are Insufficient, We Will Accept All Armed Forces of the Russian Federation: Lukashenko

Belarus is ready to accept Russian military personnel to ensure the security of the Union State, but there is currently no need for this, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated today, according to RIa.ru.

“Right now, there is no need for that; we have quite strong, unified, compact armed forces. Moreover, we can mobilize 500,000 people on short notice if necessary. If there is a shortfall, we will accept all armed forces of the Russian Federation. Such a thing will never happen. But if necessary, we will not hesitate,” Lukashenko said.

President Lukashenko also stated that the issue of deploying Russian air bases on Belarusian territory has never been discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as there is currently no need for this with modern weaponry.
