Why Is the Entrance to Kut Village Closed?
A firefight occurred overnight and at dawn, said Gegharkunik Governor Gnel Sanosyan during a conversation with journalists in the government. “It happened in the direction of the position where fierce battles took place yesterday; we have one wounded, with an injury to the shoulder, and he has been operated on, everything is normal,” Sanosyan stated.
According to the governor, there are no Russian peacekeepers in that area. He mentioned that he cannot disclose details of negotiations with the Russian side but noted that a certain process has occurred and is ongoing. “I cannot say what stage we are at now,” added Sanosyan.
When asked why the entrance to Kut village is closed, the Gegharkunik governor explained that it is due to security considerations. “There has been some movement by the adversary in the vicinity of Kut since May 13-14; a decision has been made to act this way,” he said.
Sanosyan also mentioned that workers and some equipment from the Sotk mine have been evacuated, and the mine is not currently operational. He stated that the army has provided a very worthy response to the adversary, and there have been no changes in the front line.
