Pfizer Vaccine to Arrive in Armenia as Government Allocates Funds

At today's government session, a decision was made to allocate 3 billion 459 million drams for the purchase of Chinese Sinopharm and German Pfizer vaccines.

This allocation will increase the percentage of the population receiving vaccinations by an additional 10% (500,000 doses, covering 250,000 individuals with two doses each).

Acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan stated that the activity regarding vaccinations in Armenia continues to rise, with 163,000 citizens already vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed concern over the steady but slow increase of coronavirus cases in Armenia. “I draw attention to the vaccination process; we must continue to effectively secure the acquisition of vaccines,” he emphasized.

Anahit Avanesyan also mentioned that yesterday, the Lithuanian government confirmed it would donate 27,000 vaccine doses to Armenia.
