VIDEO: Armed Robbery in Ejmiatsin Targeting a 59-Year-Old Woman
On July 27, 2021, at 20:15, a call was received from the "Vagharshapat" Medical Center regarding a 59-year-old woman who was admitted with a severe head injury and concussion after being beaten in a store.
During the preparation of the materials, information was obtained indicating that the woman sustained these injuries as a result of an armed robbery. Specifically, according to preliminary data, at approximately 19:30 on July 27, 2021, an individual suspected of committing the crime entered a specialized store selling "Combined Feeds" in Ejmiatsin with the intent to steal money. The suspect attacked an employee, using an object as a weapon to inflict blows on her head, causing bodily harm, and fled with the stolen money.
A criminal case has been initiated by the investigative department of the Armavir Regional Investigation Office of the RA Investigative Committee under the characteristics of Article 175, Part 2, Point 4 of the RA Criminal Code. The investigation has been tasked to an investigative group. The store employee has been recognized as a victim and has been interrogated regarding the circumstances of the incident.
During the investigation, necessary actions have been taken, including an examination of the crime scene, collection of samples, interrogation of several witnesses, identification procedures, and a forensic medical examination has been appointed.
As a result of urgent investigative actions and operations conducted in collaboration with the staff of the RA Police, the identity of the individual who allegedly committed the crime has been established; he is a 52-year-old resident of Ejmiatsin.
The investigation is ongoing. Measures are being taken to locate and present the individual suspected of committing the crime to the prosecuting authority to ensure an objective and comprehensive investigation.
