Putin Discusses Situation at Armenia-Azerbaijan Border

The situation at the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan was discussed by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a consultation with permanent members of the Security Council. This information was provided to journalists by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.

Attendees of the consultation included Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia; Vyacheslav Volodin, Speaker of the State Duma; Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council; Anton Vaino, Head of the Presidential Administration; Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council; Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Minister of Internal Affairs; Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Federal Security Service; Sergey Naryshkin, Head of the Security Council; and Sergey Ivanov, Special Representative of the President for Environmental and Transport Issues.

“During the meeting, participants discussed current issues related to Russia's socio-economic development. Additionally, current international agenda items were addressed, including issues in Afghanistan, as well as the situation at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border,” Peskov stated.

It is worth noting that on July 28, around 03:40, Azerbaijani Armed Forces units again resorted to provocation and violated the ceasefire in the northeastern part of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to cease fire under Moscow's mediation.
