About 150 Employees Evacuated from Sotk Mine Amid Ongoing Gunfire
For the second time, employees at the Sotk mine have been forced to leave the area due to enemy gunfire. Ruzaana Grigoryan, a representative of the GeoProMining Gold company, informed Factinfo that the evacuation occurred when sporadic gunfire began.
“The mine has suspended operations. All employees have been urgently evacuated, and there are currently no activities taking place at the site due to the random gunfire,” she stated. During the night, roughly 150 personnel are on duty at the mine, all of whom have been evacuated.
It should be noted that on July 26, there was also tension along the border of the Azerbaijan-occupied Karvachar region. Sporadic gunfire was reported in the vicinity of the Sotk mine, prompting about 150 employees to evacuate the area based on the management's decision.
Additionally, the Armenian Ministry of Defense reported today that the adversary has begun offensive military operations along the Republic of Armenia's borders, stretching from Sotk to the Verin Shorja section. Combat operations have unleashed intense exchanges of fire. The adversary is attempting to strengthen its positions to create favorable conditions for advancement.
The Armenian Armed Forces units are executing their assigned combat missions, protecting their positions, and preventing the enemy's advance.
