VIDEO: Flooding In Batumi Causes Ground Floors of Buildings to Be Submerged, Residents Trapped Inside

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in several streets of the resort city Batumi in Georgia. Traffic is struggling to move even in some streets. The Georgian television channel Imedi has released a video showing the aftermath of the flooding.

Rescue workers are operating under emergency conditions. Ground floors of buildings in Batumi have been submerged, preventing residents from exiting their homes. The Batumi Water Company has stated that special teams have been dispatched to the streets that are often flooded during heavy rains. Residents blame the city authorities for substandard infrastructure, noting that such situations arise after every heavy rain.

Currently, efforts are underway to clear the drainage systems.
