Decomposed Bodies of Mother and Son Discovered in Gyumri: Details
The bodies of a woman and a child discovered in apartment 31 of building 8 on Bagratuni Street in Gyumri were found to be decomposed. No gas leak was detected in the apartment, according to information provided to Sputnik Armenia by the prosecutor's office.
It has been established that the deceased woman was registered at the Gyumri Mental Health Center. Medication was found beside her. Currently, no criminal case has been initiated. A forensic examination has been appointed, and they are awaiting results.
According to the Shirak region prosecutor Gurgen Grigoryan, “Upon external examination, the expert did not report the presence of any presumed injuries that would allow us to conclude that there were external injuries. The bodies were decomposed, with the child’s body showing more significant decomposition. It is also possible that given the degree of decomposition, histological examination may be needed.”
The prosecutor noted that even the smallest detail found will become the subject of the investigation. At this time, four hypotheses are being thoroughly investigated by law enforcement.
According to the prosecutor, the woman previously lived in a rented apartment with her child and husband. She had moved to Bagratuni Street 8 with her son just four days prior and was supposed to vacate the apartment today per an agreement with the landlord.
As previously reported, on July 26, two bodies were discovered in one of the houses in Gyumri. They are mother and son, with the mother being 37 years old and the child 9 years old.
