Defense Ministry Issues Statement: Losses on Both Sides at the Border

On July 28, at around 03:40, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces once again provoked a violation of the ceasefire in the northeastern section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The Ministry of Defense reported to NEWS.am that local skirmishes are currently ongoing. The entire responsibility for the escalation of the situation rests on the Azerbaijani military-political leadership.

Later, the Ministry of Defense issued another statement, noting: "On July 28, at 03:40, Azerbaijani Armed Forces units launched an attack on Armenian positions located in the northeastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Local battles have unfolded, which, as of 07:00, are still continuing. According to preliminary information, there are casualties on both sides as a result of the hostilities. Details are being clarified."
