VIDEO: Burning Cigarette Extinguished on Forehead and Assaulted; Two Men Aged 29 and 49 Arrested

The police department in Ijevan received operational information about an incident in which two individuals assaulted a 35-year-old man in an apartment on Youth Street in Ijevan. It soon became apparent that the situation was much more severe than initially reported, according to law enforcement officials.

Through investigative measures, it was revealed that on the evening of July 10, not only was the victim assaulted, but he was also subjected to significant mental anguish and unlawfully deprived of his freedom after arriving in Ijevan by inter-community bus.

Preliminary information indicates that the man had met a 49-year-old woman on the bus. The two proceeded to the aforementioned apartment, where the owner and two friends were having a drinking party, and the owner was asleep. Recognizing the woman as the sister of their deceased friend and suspecting that the man accompanying her had ulterior motives, the 29 and 49-year-old men inflicted numerous blows to various parts of his body.

Furthermore, they extinguished a burning cigarette on his forehead and spat on his face, causing him severe mental anguish and physical pain.

During this time, according to preliminary reports, the owner of the apartment woke up and even attempted to stop the beating and torture, but to no avail. Later, when the assailants suspected that the man might report them to the police upon leaving, they unlawfully deprived him of his freedom, threatening to kill him and erase his family.

As a result, the 35-year-old man was deprived of his personal freedom until around two o'clock in the morning.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 119 (Causing Severe Physical Pain or Severe Mental Anguish) and Article 133 (Unlawful Deprivation of Freedom) of the Criminal Code. The 29 and 49-year-old men have been arrested, and the circumstances of the case are under investigation.
