Georgia to Start Production of Combat Drones
In 2021, the Ministry of Defense of Georgia plans to acquire American-made Javelin anti-tank missile systems as part of its collaboration with the United States. This was announced by Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze during the presentation of the agency's 10-year development plan, according to Novosti-Georgia.
The first batch of Javelin systems was delivered to Georgia in 2018.
During the presentation of the 10-year plan, it was also mentioned that starting from 2022, large and small military drones will be produced in collaboration with foreign companies based on the Delta military enterprise.
Additionally, it was stated that there is a need to strengthen the air defense system, and negotiations will be held with the Israeli state defense conglomerate Rafael to achieve this.
