Competition Protection Commission Press Secretary Ani Smbatyan Deletes Comments on Gas Price Justifications
Recently, the price of liquefied gas sharply increased in Armenia. The price has raised by 20 to 30 drams in certain places, going from 220 drams up to 250 drams. Although there are some filling stations in the city where the price remains unchanged, they also claim to have run out of gas.
This issue has become a topic of intense discussion and concern among the Armenian public, yet the response and inaction of state structures regarding the resolution of the problem is astonishing and incomprehensible. We have also addressed this topic in our publications, providing arguments and evidence based on the responses we have received from government agencies.
Today, Ani Smbatyan, the press secretary of the Competition Protection Commission, is responding to questions and grievances from citizens on her Facebook page. Under a post clarifying the situation, citizens express their dissatisfaction and views regarding the price increases. One citizen's sharp comment, along with comparative arguments regarding price changes and indicators from different countries, apparently did not sit well with the press secretary, as the comments were deleted by her.
We present the comments from citizen Andranik Hakobyan, which Ani Smbatyan responded to and then removed from her Facebook page.
