Another Criminal Case on Double Voting Attempt Sent to Court: Abrahamyan
The advisor to the Attorney General of Armenia, Gor Abrahamyan, has announced that a criminal case regarding double voting has been forwarded to court.
According to the evidence collected by the Lori Regional Investigative Department, a charge has been brought against S. G. under the first part of Article 34-153 of the Armenian Criminal Code for committing a criminal act. Specifically, it is alleged that on June 20, 2021, during the extraordinary parliamentary elections of Armenia, at the polling station 23/29 in Vanadzor, S. G. voted with his passport at 12:08 PM. Later that day, at 19:53, under the influence of alcohol, he attempted to register again with the same passport to vote multiple times. However, due to circumstances beyond his control, he did not complete the crime, as the voting registration device recorded the attempt at double registration.
On July 23, 2021, the prosecutor overseeing this criminal case confirmed the indictment, and it has been sent to the Lori Regional Court for substantive examination.
