No Political Mechanism Can Succeed Without Considering Human Rights, Says Ombudsman

One of these documents pertains to the damage assessment of a resident's destroyed orchard in the village of David Bek, Kapan, while the other is a lease agreement for agricultural land belonging to a resident of Vardenis, which he can no longer utilize.

These documents serve as examples that prove the violations of property, social security, and other legitimate rights of these residents from the regions of Syunik and Gegharkunik due to the illegal presence of Azerbaijani armed forces. Azerbaijani authorities must be held accountable and compensate all our villagers for the damages incurred.

They need to compensate for having disrupted the normal and peaceful lives of individuals, in addition to imposing serious security threats and depriving them of the opportunity to earn income for their families.

These facts reiterate that border issues cannot be considered separate from the rights of border residents. Regardless of the political mechanism employed, success cannot be achieved without taking human rights into account.

We must utilize all available options, and we must achieve the restoration of violated rights through persistent and unwavering efforts. Impunity makes the risk of recurrence of severe violations a tangible reality.
