How the Issue of the Opposition Deputy Spokesperson Will Be Resolved: 'Hraparak'

‘Hraparak’ newspaper writes: “The issue of the third deputy spokesperson for the opposition in the National Assembly is likely to be resolved through the following mechanism: the ‘Honorary’ alliance will grant the opportunity of the first attempt to the ‘Armenia’ alliance. The largest opposition force will nominate its candidate, but if the candidate is not elected through a secret ballot, the ‘Honorary’ alliance will implement the opportunity for a second attempt.

However, within government circles, there are reservations regarding the candidates to be proposed by the ‘Honorary’ alliance; if the alliance presents a candidate from the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), they will again refuse. Incidentally, Serzh Sargsyan wants the position to be held by the third on the list, the unknown and very young Anna Mkrtchyan, daughter of the mayor of Kasakh, but the authorities tend to choose the most experienced and likely candidate from the Public Council—former president of the Audit Chamber, Ishkhan Zakaryan.
