32-Year-Old Driver Crashes Mercedes into Earth Embankment, Dies on Scene

A tragic car accident occurred today, July 22, in the Gegharkunik region. Around 01:20, 32-year-old Artsakh Kardashyan, a resident of Masis, lost control of his Mercedes vehicle on the 70 km stretch of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijavan highway, veering off the roadway and crashing into an earth embankment, ultimately overturning.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamsyan, the driver, A. Kardashyan, died at the scene of the accident. Emergency services responded promptly, with the Sevan fire-rescue brigade arriving with one operational unit. Rescuers retrieved the driver's body from the vehicle and transferred it to the ambulance from the Sevan Medical Center that arrived shortly thereafter.
