Armen Charchyan Released from Custody
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Vahe Misakyan, has ordered the release of Armen Charchyan, the head of the Izmirlian Medical Center. Charchyan was released on a bail amounting to 10 million AMD.
It is noteworthy that the Special Investigation Service had previously decided to involve Armen Charchyan as a defendant. The investigator had filed a motion to choose detention as a measure of restraint against Charchyan.
Earlier, a recording was circulated online in which Charchyan urged the center's employees to participate in the elections. Following his arrest, Charchyan was later released.
The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin had commented on the arrest of Armen Charchyan, director of the Izmirlian Medical Center and a candidate for deputy from the Armenia Alliance, urging law enforcement agencies to immediately release Professor Charchyan.
The prosecutor had submitted a request to the Central Electoral Commission regarding the agreement to deprive Charchyan of his freedom. Judge Armine Meliksetyan had accepted the request from the Special Investigation Service to apply detention as a measure of restraint against Professor Armen Charchyan, who had been detained for one month.
