Arayik Harutyunyan Introduces Newly Appointed Deputy Minister Arshak Karapetyan to the Ministry of Defense Staff
Arayik Harutyunyan, the Head of the Prime Minister’s Staff, has introduced Arshak Karapetyan, the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Defense, to the staff of the Ministry of Defense and the senior leadership of the Armed Forces.
Harutyunyan expressed gratitude to the former acting Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan for his valuable work, stating, "Mr. Harutyunyan took on the position of Minister of Defense during a very difficult period for Armenia. We must acknowledge that we faced several crises during this time, but thanks to Mr. Harutyunyan, we managed to overcome them. His role in this process was significant. Thank you for your service during this period. We highly value it, and the government and political team believe that you have fulfilled your mission honorably during this time."
The former Minister of Defense, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, thanked the staff and officers of the Ministry of Defense, with whom he navigated the challenging post-war period and overcame numerous difficulties. He emphasized the importance of ongoing reforms in the sector and noted the necessity of continuing and completing these reforms to ensure a fully capable army in the region.
Harutyunyan congratulated Arshak Karapetyan on assuming the role of First Deputy Minister of Defense. The Head of the Prime Minister’s Staff also highlighted the importance of implementing the reforms that have started in the military, as well as addressing the problems that arose after the war. "I wish you success in undertaking this mission. You have the support of the government and the political team of the ‘Civil Contract’ party in carrying out these reforms. After the elections on June 20, our society has given a specific mandate for a concrete program. I believe that together we will implement this mandate in the coming five years also in carrying out military reforms," stated Harutyunyan.
Arshak Karapetyan expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and assured that everything will be done to have a strong army and protected borders. "Once again, I want to greet the personnel with whom I have served and will continue to serve. The reforms will be quite rapid," said the First Deputy Minister of Defense.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Artak Davtyan, expressed gratitude on behalf of the staff to Vagharshak Harutyunyan for the joint work and presented him with a commemorative gift. The Chief of the General Staff congratulated Arshak Karapetyan and wished him successful activities.
