Tragic Car Accident in Kotayk Province: Vehicle Overturned in Orchard, Deceased Was One of Armenia's Leading Zoologists
Today, July 20, a severe and tragic car accident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 01:15, 52-year-old Karen Martirosyan, a resident of Yerevan, lost control of his Toyota Land Cruiser Prado on the 3rd km section of the Nor Geghi-Yegvard road. The vehicle veered off the roadway to the right, crashed into the concrete barbed wire fences of an apple orchard, and ended up in the orchard, rolling several times for approximately 100 meters before landing upside down in a field.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan at the scene, K. Martirosyan died instantly. Passengers, 73-year-old Bagrat Davtyan and 62-year-old Samvel Ghahramanyan, both residents of Yerevan, received immediate first aid from the doctors of the Yegvard medical center who promptly arrived at the site and were then transferred to the Armenia Medical Center.
Rescue workers de-energized the vehicle, flipped it over, and promptly brought the deceased's body to the emergency vehicle that had arrived at the scene.
