Karahunj Administrator Lusine Avetyan Released from Custody Considering Self-Confession
The administrative head of Karahunj, Lusine Avetyan, has been released from custody. This was stated by Gor Abrahamyan, advisor to the Attorney General of Armenia, in an interview with Tert.am.
“The defense side's motion has been discussed, and by the decision of the prosecutor, the measure of restraint has been changed. The custody has been replaced with bail. The property presented with the motion has been used as the bail,” Abrahamyan detailed.
According to him, the basis for changing the measure of restraint has been Avetyan's cooperation with the investigating bodies, providing confessional testimony for the purpose of uncovering the crime.
“The prosecutor also assessed that at this stage of the investigation, the risk of obstructing the trial by exerting illegal influence on the participants has decreased, and the application of bail is sufficient to ensure the proper behavior of the accused while remaining at liberty,” stated Gor Abrahamyan.
It is worth recalling that Lusine Avetyan has been charged with obstructing the exercise of electoral rights, the operations of electoral commissions, or the powers of individuals participating in elections, and violating the secrecy of voting.
