Community Leader of Yeraskh Injured in Border Fire

The community leader of Yeraskh, Radik Ohikyan, was injured in the arm due to enemy gunfire in the Yeraskh section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

This was reported to Armenpress by the director of the Ararat Hospital, Arayik Sardarayan. “He was in a bunker. He was injured as a result of gunfire, probably from shrapnel,” said the hospital director. According to him, the community leader was transferred to Ararat Hospital at midnight. Ohikyan's condition is moderate and is not life-threatening. However, during the night, he was transferred to the Astghik Medical Center in Yerevan.

In a conversation with Auroranews from the Yeraskh community administration, they stated that the community leader's condition is normal at this time.

On the evening of July 19, starting at 18:40, Azerbaijani armed forces fired upon Armenian positions located in the Yeraskh section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border for several hours using various calibers of firearms. Mortars were also periodically used. As of 23:00 that night, the situation remained tense. The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has warned once again that any border provocation will be met with a strong response, and that the responsibility for escalating the situation lies entirely with the Azerbaijani military-political leadership.
