Azerbaijanis Conduct Active Engineering Work in Shurnukh, Hakob Arshakyan

Azerbaijani military personnel are engaged in active engineering work in the Shurnukh village of the Syunik region, specifically in the area currently under their control. This information was reported to Sputnik Armenia by Shurnukh village mayor Hakob Arshakyan.

“They are installing boxes in the area they control, and there is an elevation where they are establishing a post,” Arshakyan said. The mayor is confident that these activities are not happening for no reason and believes Azerbaijan is preparing for something.

“Even a small child understands that they are preparing for something,” he added.

According to him, every night a convoy of Azerbaijani vehicles enters the vicinity of Shurnukh (7-8 vehicles). It is worth noting that after the trilateral statement on November 10, the situation at the border has changed not only in Artsakh but also in certain regions of Armenia, particularly in Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik.

On January 5, 11 houses in the Syunik village of Shurnukh were handed over to Azerbaijanis. On February 5, Armenian soldiers retreated from Nerkhin Khndzoresk, leaving 15 hectares of land to the adversary. In the village of Vorotan, we have lost around 10 houses.
