The Shooter from Yesterday is the Brother of Businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, by the decision of Aram Ayvazyan, head of the 2nd investigative department of the Central and Norq-Marasht investigative division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, an investigative group has been established with senior investigator Abovyan appointed as the group leader.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the investigative group was created yesterday, July 18, in the center of Yerevan, regarding the gunshots heard near the National Security Service’s Yerevan department on Amiryan street.
According to G. Shamshyan’s information, a criminal case has been initiated based on the features of Article 258, Part 4, and Article 235, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. Police and investigators have established that at around 19:00 on the same day, a dispute over household matters occurred between residents of Yerevan: 51-year-old Robert Sukiasyan, 47-year-old Arman Apikian, 33-year-old Varazdat Gasparyan, and 29-year-old Sargis Abgaryan, and the other side, 35-year-old Narek Karapetyan, a Yerevan resident, and 42-year-old Harut Habagyan, a citizen of the United States.
According to preliminary information obtained, R. Sukiasyan fired shots from his firearm, resulting in H. Habagyan sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police, investigators, and forensic experts who arrived at the scene found 3 spent 9 mm cartridges and traces of blood. Today, on July 19, around 01:00, the Central Police Department received a call from the “Nairi” medical center reporting that a citizen had been brought in with a diagnosis of “stab wound to the soft tissues of the left thigh.”
Officers from the Central Police Department, led by department head A. Papyan, determined that the person admitted to the hospital was A. Apikian, who had been stabbed during the mentioned dispute. Officers from the Criminal Investigations Division discovered a pneumatic gun in his possession. Subsequently, taking necessary operational and investigative measures, police found that 35-year-old Narek Karapetyan had stabbed him during that dispute.
The police and the investigative division are undertaking necessary operational and investigative joint actions to clarify all circumstances of the incident, identify suspects, and discover the weapons used in the crime, including the firearm and the knife.
According to G. Shamshyan’s information, R. Sukiasyan, who discharged the shots, is the brother of the well-known businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan, nicknamed “Grzo.”
