Parents Torture Child in Azerbaijan, Police Take No Action

In Azerbaijan, a mother and stepfather have beaten and tortured a child, bringing them to the brink of death. The incident was reported to the police by the child's grandmother, who was summoned by café staff after the mother left the child in a severely weakened state.

According to the grandmother, this is not the first instance of abuse against the child by drug-addicted parents, yet the police have not taken any action following her reports.

Currently, the seriously injured child is in the hospital.
