Combine Harvester Accidentally Crosses Border in Tehran Community
A recent incident occurred near the border of the Tegh community in the Syunik Province, where a combine harvester accidentally crossed into Azerbaijani territory. According to Hraparak.am, Azerbaijani forces halted the harvester on their side of the border.
The community leader, Nerses Shadunts, detailed the incident in an interview with Hraparak: "The combine had entered the fields for harvesting and had gone about 10 meters into their territory. They came to take the harvester away. Since morning, we have been negotiating with the border guard commander and just concluded everything. The combine operator is fine; he simply crossed about 10 meters, but they stopped him asking why he entered our territory. No harm was done to the operator, just ongoing negotiations since the morning."
According to the mayor, measures have been taken to prevent such border crossings in the future, including bringing in equipment and digging along the border: "Their leadership also came, and we agreed that such incidents should not happen again. There is a distance of 12 meters from that border to the mouth of the gorge. I don’t know how the border was delineated back then, but they drew it towards us by 12 meters from the mouth of the gorge. Had they drawn it along the gorge, it would have been clearer. That person crossed 12 meters and then came back, and they took that as a basis to stop the combine operator on our territory... They show GPS coordinates claiming it’s our territory, while I brought agricultural machinery, and in the presence of Russians, theirs, and ours, we delineated the area to prevent further violations."
