Azerbaijani Provocations Have Taken on Various Forms in the Past Week: Abrahamyan

Head of the 'Henaket' Analytical Center Tigran Abrahamyan writes:

“Azerbaijani provocations have taken on various forms in the past week. Especially concerning is the issue related to the disappearance or capture of our two servicemen in the Sev Lake area (at this moment, details of the incident are unknown), as well as the increase in tension in the Yeraskh region (a few days ago, an Armenian serviceman was killed).

The Ministry of Defense is providing information about the operational situation, but it is still unclear what military objectives Azerbaijan is trying to achieve. Is the goal merely to gain positional advantage, or is this a part of a broader Azerbaijani strategy to resolve strategic issues?

From a political standpoint, Azerbaijan will naturally try to increase pressure in order to complete the second phase of Armenia's capitulation, which goes against the logic of the trilateral statement of November 9.”
