34-Year-Old Driver Accused of Driving Under the Influence Crashes Toyota into Parked BMW X5 in Kotayk

On July 18, a serious car accident occurred in the Kotayk region. Around 11:50 PM, 36-year-old Khachatur Ohanyan, a resident of Yerevan, collided with a parked BMW X5, driven by 37-year-old Karen Mihranian from Armavir, while driving his Toyota on the Yerevan-Sevan highway at the 40.5 km marker, heading towards Yerevan.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, following the collision, the Toyota veered off the roadway, struck some rocks, and ended up in a green area.

As a result of the accident, the passenger of the Toyota, 34-year-old Greta Karapetyan from Yerevan, was assisted first by the BMW X5 driver, K. Mihranian. Medical personnel from the Hrazdan Medical Center, who arrived promptly, administered first aid at the scene and then transported her to the Hrazdan Medical Center.

Both drivers underwent sobriety testing, revealing that the driver of the Toyota was under the influence of alcohol.
