Tragic Incident in Kotayk Region: 37-Year-Old Man Jumps from New Hajn Bridge After Parking Car

A tragic incident occurred today, July 18, in the Kotayk region. At approximately 00:10, the 911 operational management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call from the Nairi Police Department indicating that a citizen had jumped from the New Hajn bridge.

According to Shamshyan.com, a rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ firefighting and rescue service No. 16 arrived at the scene to conduct search operations in the difficult terrain. Due to the high relief and darkness during the night, it was decided to halt the search efforts until dawn.

At 06:00 in the morning, rescuers, along with officers from the Kotayk Police Department and the police departments of Byureghavan and New Hajn, resumed the search operations and discovered the body of the man in the challenging terrain.

Authorities have identified the deceased individual as 37-year-old Mher K. from the Kotayk region. He had parked his Volga car on the bridge before jumping off. The investigator has ordered several examinations, including a forensic examination of the body.
