Fire Breaks Out in Geghi Village Contained

On July 18, firefighters from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations resumed firefighting operations. The fire was contained at 14:10. Approximately 20 hectares of vegetation were burned.

Recall, on July 17, at 14:08, the regional crisis management center of Syunik received a call indicating that a grassland area was burning near the lake in Geghi village. Three firefighting units from the regional rescue department were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that about 17 hectares of vegetation were on fire. Due to darkness and the inaccessibility of the area, a duty was established by the rescuers and the employees of the “Zangezur Biospheric Complex” state non-commercial organization.
