New Details on the Health Condition of Armenian Soldiers Wounded by Enemy Gunfire Yesterday: Criminal Case Initiated

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has released a statement regarding the health condition of soldiers who sustained injuries due to enemy fire. As of 17:00 on July 23, 2021, three servicemen suffered gunshot wounds while on duty at a combat position located in the administrative territory of the Kut community in the Gegharkunik region.

The soldiers affected include conscript Arman Gurgeni Atasyan, as well as contract servicemen Lernik Henriki Navoyan and Yurik Ashoti Ohanyan. The latter have been transported to the military hospital in Gegharkunik, where Atasyan's condition has been assessed as extremely serious.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated at the fifth investigative department of the military investigative main directorate based on Articles 34-104, parts 1, 2, 7, and 13 of the Armenian Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
