Nearly 60% of Storks Polluted: This Indicates a Major Ecological Disaster in the Region

The Armenian branch of the Nature Conservation Union (NABU) has completed the enumeration process of storks in the Ararat region. In a statement released by the union, it notes: "As you may remember, we have been conducting research and enumeration of storks since last year, aimed at determining their distribution, sources of pollution, causes of contamination, and the number of polluted storks. Currently, the enumeration work has been completed in the Ararat region, where studies have revealed that nearly 60% of the storks are polluted. This is a substantial figure and indicates a major ecological disaster in the region.

The work is now continuing in the Armavir region, and we will soon present you with our final data, which will clearly show the scale and magnitude of the disaster. Stay tuned for updates!" The organization also reminded that in June, satellite transmitters were installed on white storks for in-depth studies and to monitor and research bird migration.
