Tbilisi Protesters Give Government Until Morning of July 12 to Resign

Last night, a protest demonstration took place in front of the government administration in response to the death of operator Lekso Lashkarava. Protesters announced that they have given the authorities until 12:00 PM tomorrow to resign; otherwise, they will resume their rally at 6:00 PM.

It is worth recalling that on July 5, Lekso Lashkarava, an operator for 'TV Pirveli,' was beaten by opponents of the 'Tbilisi Pride' event. His cause of death is currently unknown. Lekso Lashkarava had spent several days in a clinic before being discharged; he was found dead in his apartment.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding Lekso Lashkarava's death has been initiated under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
