«For now, we really have to work in difficult conditions»: Peskov comments on EU sanctions extension
There is nothing new in the fact that the European Union has extended sanctions against Russia, stated Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia. “For now, we really have to work in difficult conditions. Of course, such decisions do not open up new prospects for the settlement of relations between Moscow and Brussels,” added the Kremlin representative.
He also responded to a question about how this is linked to France and Germany's idea of holding a summit with Russia. “You know that there are various viewpoints in the EU regarding building relations with the Russian Federation,” Peskov explained.
Earlier, it was reported that EU Foreign Ministers had extended sanctions imposed on Russia 7 years ago until January 31, 2022.
