Harutyunyan Discusses Armenian-Azerbaijani Border Situation with Russian Armed Forces Chief
On July 8, acting Minister of Defense of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan had a phone conversation with Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov.
The interlocutors discussed the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the Gegharkunik and Syunik regions and the potential pathways for resolving the issues, as well as the ongoing mission of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the Republic of Artsakh.
Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Valery Gerasimov addressed the agenda for upcoming negotiations with a delegation from the Russian Ministry of Defense set to arrive in Armenia in the coming days. The discussions will focus on deepening Armenian-Russian military cooperation and the reforms currently underway in the Armed Forces of Armenia.
