Arman Abovyan, a member of the 'Prosperous Armenia' faction in the National Assembly, made a Facebook post stating: 'Regarding the return of our captive brothers, I can only say two things. Thank God our boys are returning, and that is, of course, a crucial event. It is a horrific disgrace and shameless arrogance that our captive boys have become objects of trade, as these authorities hand over our national interests to Turkish scum as a ransom to save our boys.'

'I repeat, may God allow those of our boys remaining in the Azerbaijani hell to return as soon as possible. But I have a question for the authorities: I hope you understand that you have succumbed to blackmail and agreed to the Azerbaijani scheme of selling and purchasing the lives of captives, instead of us taking several dozen Azerbaijanis hostage in return and thus, by the way, rendering attempts by Azerbaijanis to abduct new captives meaningless.'

'So here's the question: what will prevent Azerbaijanis from captively seizing Armenians again, demanding further concessions in return? Or should they be feared from your hammer and steel mandate? I am firmly convinced that at a convenient moment for them, Azerbaijanis will again attempt to capture citizens of the Republic of Armenia, as the spineless Armenian authorities have already agreed to play by the inhumane rules of the Azerbaijanis.'
