Meghri Mayor Resigns from Official Duties, Set to Join Parliament

Mayor Mkhitar Zakaryan has addressed the residents of Meghri with an official message: "Dear residents of Meghri community, I am prematurely resigning from my duties as the head of the Meghri community effective July 10 of this year. As you know, the 'Armenia Alliance' is preparing to enter the National Assembly, in which case I will certainly exercise my right to take the mandate. The purpose of my leaving two weeks earlier than the established deadline is to facilitate a prompt return to normal life for the community. Any delay can negatively impact the community.

I hope that the activities undertaken by our team have been as effective as possible. We have done everything possible and impossible for the welfare of the community and its residents. Dear Meghri residents, my political views cannot take precedence over the interests of the community, and I am always ready to support the community, its staff, and its leadership in all processes that serve the interests of the community.

I express my gratitude to the Meghri community council, administrative leaders, directors of community public organizations, and the entire staff of the Meghri municipality for their harmonious and effective work. I assure you that in my future activities, I will continue to serve the Republic of Armenia and the Meghri community."
