The Mayor of Kajaran Detained

The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, presided over by Judge Gagik Poghosyan, has granted the investigator's request to detain Manvel Paramazyan, the Mayor of Kajaran. Paramazyan was arrested yesterday.

It is noteworthy that a request to detain Manvel Paramazyan was submitted to the court yesterday. This was reported by lawyer Lusine Sahakyan.

On July 9, Paramazyan was charged under parts 3 of Article 178, part 4 of Article 311, and part 2 of Article 154.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. Paramazyan denies the charges, claiming that he is facing political persecution.
