VIDEO: Stabbing in Avzank. The Dispute Was Particularly Relevant: Drinking Water Had Been Cut Off

On June 26, a report was received by the Vardenis police department from a hospital regarding a 65-year-old resident of the village of Avzank who had been admitted with a stab wound to the abdomen. The police informed that an operational group was dispatched to the hospital, where it was reported that the injured man was unable to provide a statement. The injury was severe.

The Vardenis police began investigating the case. As a result of operational and investigative measures, the following was clarified: on the same day, around 5 PM, a dispute occurred between a 21-year-old and a 54-year-old fellow villager in the middle of the village of Avzank. The subject of the argument was particularly relevant: drinking water had been cut off.

During the quarrel, the older man struck the younger man with his hands and stones. However, the dispute did not end there. The younger man, accompanied by his father, went to the yard of the 54-year-old man's house to settle the issues, but they failed to reach an agreement. A brawl ensued, during which the homeowner took a kitchen knife from his house and stabbed the younger man's father, inflicting serious injury.

The man taken to the police presented the knife used in the crime and was arrested. A criminal case has been initiated, and the circumstances are being investigated.
