Another Alert about the Intentional Burning of Grasslands
The Ministry of Environment continues to receive reports regarding the burning of grasslands across the country. Another alert has been received concerning the intentional burning of grasslands adjacent to the Arshaluys community in the Armavir region.
Relevant departments of the Ministry of Environment will send appropriate letters to the Police of Armenia, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Inspection Body for Environmental Protection and Mining, and the Armavir Regional Administration to investigate the circumstances of the incident and take appropriate action.
Dear citizens, we once again urge you to refrain from such practices and remind you that according to Article 21 of the Law on Atmospheric Air Protection of Armenia, it is prohibited to burn pastures, areas with vegetation remnants, and dried vegetation in agricultural, forested, and specially protected nature areas. It is also prohibited to burn household and industrial waste, as well as waste generated before leaf fall, in natural environments, residential areas, and their surroundings, as well as in facilities not designed for such burning.
